Hi, I’m Sophie. Welcome!

About Me

I pride myself on being empathetic, supportive, and friendly, and I'm looking forward to connecting with you. I have a genuine interest in your journey and believe that you hold resources within yourself to achieve your goals. Together, we can explore these strengths and unlock your potential. Let’s take this journey together! But before we do that, you may be interested to know a little more about me.

I have experience addressing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, loss and grief, domestic abuse, relationship issues, low self-esteem, confidence, neurodiversity, as well as matters of gender and identity.

My approach is warm and open, fostering an informal and relaxed atmosphere. I am committed to providing empathy, honesty, and autonomy, ensuring you have a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and their impact on your life today.

I offer counselling services to adults both face-to-face and online. Additionally, I work in person with children aged 14 and older. The duration of counselling can be tailored to your individual needs—whether you prefer short-term support or a longer-term approach. I am also fully trained in safeguarding protocols for both adults and young people.

In addition to my private practice, I provide counselling services at the Priory. I have previously offered bereavement support to children through a local charity and supported students at a sixth-form college, helping them navigate their emotional challenges.

Before becoming a counsellor, I trained in Human Resources. Following this, I spent several years providing emotional support to children, including one-on-one assistance to those with special educational needs in educational settings.

Professional Membership:

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), adhering to their ethical framework and code of practice. This commitment includes regular supervision as part of my ethical approach to practice.

I actively engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), which I believe is vital for effective counselling.
