As we approach the conclusion of our work together, we will plan for this transition together to ensure a supportive and meaningful ending.
You might be curious about what Transactional Analysis (TA) entails!
Developed by Eric Berne, TA is a comprehensive psychological theory centered on personality. This structured form of psychotherapy is designed to foster personal growth and facilitate meaningful change in your life.
TA offers valuable insights into psychological functioning, helping you gain a deeper understanding of your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It sheds light on the dynamics of communication, enabling you to grasp why misunderstandings may occur. By examining these interactions, you can connect them to your internal dialogue and your relationships with others.
Through thoughtful exploration, you will reflect on how decisions made in early childhood can influence your present behaviours, even in the face of painful consequences or recurring negative thoughts.
I invite you to embark on this journey of self-discovery and growth with me!

How Transactional Analysis (TA) Can Support You in Managing Anxiety
Transactional Analysis (TA) offers a valuable framework for understanding the behaviours that contribute to anxiety. By identifying the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours affecting your daily life, you can transform negative patterns into healthier ways of being, ultimately reducing anxiety.
TA emphasises the importance of both external communication and internal dialogue through the concept of 'ego states.' Stressful interactions often stem from critical communication styles, which can increase feelings of anxiety. Therapy focuses on shifting these unconscious patterns toward a more nurturing approach, fostering logical thinking over emotional reactions. By understanding how your interactions with others influence anxiety, you can develop a more constructive Adult ego state, leading to improved communication and to feeling less overwhelmed.
Additionally, self-defeating behaviours often trace back to early childhood decisions, known as 'scripts.' By gaining insight into your script, you can break free from recurring behaviours that trigger anxiety.
Through the TA framework, you will enhance your self-awareness and emotional understanding, leading to improved communication skills, stronger relationships, and better emotional management. This holistic approach encourages the modification of anxiety-inducing behaviours, paving the way for emotional wellbeing.
